Jessica Archer @JesArcher
Information Officer – Wayne State University
Jessica is the Information Officer at Wayne State University, where she writes news and feature stories publicizing academic, cultural, sports and other activities at the university. She is also responsible for other media affairs, including interviews, press conferences and promotional strategies at the university. Prior to her current position, Archer was a Public Relations Intern for WSU, as well as a staff writer/intern for The Voice Newspapers. She was a contributing writer for The South End. Archer received her B.A. in Journalism from WSU.
Julian Bond @Julian_Bond
Marketing Manager – Social Media/Web – Detroit Medical Center
Julian is the Marketing Manager at the Detroit Medical Center, where he directs the social media and web outreach. Prior to his current position, he was the Project Coordinator at the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and an Apprentice at the Detroit Free Press. Bond received his B.A. in Public Relations/Marketing and Journalism from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and his MBA in Marketing from Baker College Center for Graduate Studies.
James Canning @JamesCanPR
Founder – CANNING Communications
James is the Founder of CANNING Communications, and a Contributing Blogger at The Detroit News. Prior to founding CANNING Communications, Canning was a Media Specialist Contractor at GlobalHue, and a Marketing Communications Contractor at VisionIT. From 2004 to 2008, Canning served as the Deputy Press Secretary for the City of Detroit, making him the lead spokesman for the Mayor of Detroit. Canning was also an Account Manager at Berg Muirhead and Associates. Canning received his B.A. in Public Relations from WSU.
Erica Finley @ericafinley
Erica is the Digital Media Strategist at The Urbane Way, which is a social media marketing outlet for apartments and small businesses. Prior to working at The Urbane Way, Finley was a Social Media Account Executive at BERLINE, an advertising, marketing and digital communications firm. Finley’s experience also includes Online Content Leader and Copy Editor and Page Designer at the Michigan Business Review, and the Senior Information Desk Assistant at the Battle Creek Enquirer. Finley attended Grand Valley State University and Western Michigan University; she received her degree in Journalism and English.
