Dr. James Measell speaks on PRSA Detroit Hall of Fame induction

Dr. James Measell is more than a former Wayne State University communication professor; he is the man responsible for the university’s public relations program, developing the first class in 1979 and the degree program in 1987.

Dr. Measell is also the professor who helped form the WSU PRSSA chapter in 1983 and who our beloved chapter is named after.

At the 2011 PRSA-Detroit Annual Meeting on Nov. 3, Dr. Measell was inducted into the PRSA-Detroit Hall of Fame, the highest recognition the chapter can bestow. The award reflects a candidate’s significant contribution to the profession, to the PRSA-Detroit Chapter and to the community.

Dr. Measell was unable to accept his award in-person, but he sent the following video interview, which was played during the annual meeting.

A huge thanks to Lauren Franko, chapter president of Marietta College PRSSA, for conducting the interview and to Elizabeth Frank, president of the Marietta College chapter of the National Broadcasting Society, for producing the video.
