Salute Copy Editor
As this year’s Salute Copy Editor, Delaney DeAngelis makes sure every issue of the Salute follows the correct format for publication. This includes looking for errors, making sure each article reads smoothly and creating the right headlines for each article.
With an additional interest in journalism, Delaney recalls being introduced to PR in high school.
“I enjoyed my marketing class in high school, especially the PR section of the class,” the junior-status student says, “So I decided to take the fundamentals class at Wayne State and I loved it.”
This PR major would like to work in digital/social media publicity and PR.
“Specifically, I would love to work in music PR working for smaller bands,” she says, “Or in an agency environment for digital media marketing/publicity.”
Outside of PR, Delaney is passionate about music and currently writes for two music websites, Beyond the Stage and Sound Press Media. A vegetarian since April 2015, she is also passionate about animal rights.
Since she isn’t graduating until May 2018, Delaney says “nothing is really set in stone.”
“My dream has always been to live in New York City, so I’ve been saving up my money to move there once I graduate.” She says. “Eventually, I want to get my masters and Ph.D.”
