As President, Rebecca Cooper serves as our Chapter’s major point-of-contact. But to her, the role is “pretty eclectic and not easily defined.”
“Primarily my focus is directing and managing our Chapter’s overall operations,” she says. “I also serve as the liaison between our WSU chapter and the national-level PRSSA.”
When asked why she chose PR as her major, Rebecca recognizes the importance of storytelling in today’s world and believes the “opportunities are only growing.”
“I would like to leverage my relationships to ultimately build my own agency dealing with everything from tech, politics to entertainment,” the junior-status student says.
Along with PR, Rebecca is interested in learning how to code, watching Game of Thrones and in social activism. She also lives in Midtown and reminds us to remember the surrounding Detroit neighborhoods as well.
“Detroit has this intangible spirit about it that makes you fall in love,” Rebecca says. “But we must be mindful of the metrics we use to determine success.”
Rebecca has also written the article Five Ways to Enhance Your Agency Tour for the Wayne State University PRSSA blog.
Honored to serve as the 2016-2017 @wsuprssa President. This will be a transformative and exciting year for our chapter!
